Laying summary – June 2014

Ah, June. The month where frost traces patterns on the windows, and the hens finally start to remember what it is that’s so alluring about a nestbox, and the eggs start coming again:

Eggs June 2014

Once again, Freya is our top layer, this time with 19 eggs in the month. Hooray! But she is joined on that total by Jeannie, who started laying on the 3rd and seems to have gotten the hang of things quite quickly. Yay! And rounding out the top three places is Remy, who joined in a week later (first egg on the 13th) and managed a very creditable 14 eggs. (All the more impressive when you work out that she only had 18 days of the month left to do it in.) Size for our three pullets is not bad either– mid 40s to low 50s. So well done the three of you! And not to forget Adelaide, in 4th place with 12 eggs, and Olivia the ginger pudding with 6.
