Laying summary – June 2011

July 1, 2011 § Leave a comment

What a difference a month makes! We were lucky that most of the pullets had started laying before winter – usually the shortening days will make them delay laying if they haven’t already started. Neroli’s pullet season was a case in point. But we managed to sneak in this time, and have all eight pullets in lay, as well as Neroli. But how good was it?

Let’s see the chart:

A thoroughly plentiful nine girls in lay, and a whopping total of 141 eggs for the month!

Not on the chart (because they will be going to Nicola) are Maggie (who laid 21 eggs) and Annie (who laid 1 egg on the 29th). Once again, the Golden Cloaca award goes to Katie, with a total of 23 eggs, averaging 55.43 g.
