Moving the Winter Garden

We’re feeling a bit smug tonight. We shifted the Winter Garden forward onto the front vegie bed this afternoon, and it was a piece of cake! The thing that took by far the longest was trying to raise the back edge of the run that butts onto the house far enough so that there wasn’t a huge gap. (It was the final bit of run we made, and is a bit warped. Ingenuity, blocks and bits of plywood are called for.)
We’d managed to germinate some lucerne and mustard in the bed in preparation for the girls’ arrival.
It lasted less than an hour.
Mostly the girls seem to just be enjoying the scritching – the soil is loose and fluffy and full of invertebrates. There are some enormous holes being dug, and many happy bok-boking noises emanating from the various pits …
