Plummeting productivity!
Well, I guess it had to happen – today was our first eggless day since the 18th of July. Summer should be a good laying period but our girls have taken the hot weather (and it has been hot) as a reason to moult and/or go broody.
Here at ChookeNZ we get a bit obsessive about statistics from time to time, so here’s the analysis. Since the beginning of September we’ve been keeping track of the weekly egg totals. This is presented below, and gives an idea of the rapid drop in production – two weeks ago we got 32, last week just 13.
So, considering witholding periods etc, maybe this is a good time to worm them?!
